With easter holidays kicking in, we decided to add an extra race to our planning and drive at Anneville in the Ligue Ile de France championship. As we will drive during the weekend of the 20st of April on the same track within the Ligue Hauts de France this was a perfect time for practice and finding the right setup.
Circuit Lucien Lebret is a fantastic track but aggressive on the tires – the track where Piere Gasly ran most of his time in his early karting career. Lukas took in some very decent laps on Friday even going within the 60s per lap. Unfortunately he was not able to repeat that feat during the Chrono as he was stuck behind a slower racer. With 42 mini racers we ended up at the last row of every qualifying race and had use all possible effort to gain places. Unfortunately our positions were not good enough to make the cut and we were not qualified for the pre-finals and finals. Instead Lukas drove the B-final and went from 4th position to P2 taking home his first podium and a huge morale boost.
We can conclude that the level of racing in Ligue Ile de France is much higher and that this was a solid practice for what is to come in the next race weekend. We’ll try to make the cut and join the pre-final and final which would be a great improvement already over this weekend.
We would like to thank our sponsors Joris Buyse and Ripl BV, and the racing team of Claude Bal for all the support throughout the weekend!
