“We can’t always get what we want; but we always get what we need”
Not the end result we wanted but we’ve proven what we’re worth. In the qualifying practice Lukas took pole with a lap time that was 0.7s faster than P2. While he lost the lead in heat 1 due to a false start of a contender he fought back to finish P4 and finally went on to claim P2 in heat 2.
In the final Lukas was too nervous and trigger happy on the pedal. His engine did not start immediately and someone collided with his front bumper while Lukas was still stationary. Unfortunately the front bumper was loose and the penalty unavoidable making a good result nearly impossible.
Results summary
- Quali: P1
- Heat 1: P1 -> P4
- Heat 2: P4 -> P2
- Final: P3 -> P5
Big thumbs up to the team mates in mini rookie with their fantastic result this weekend. Superb to see CRG in Heat 1 in P4,P5,P6 and P7. And congrats to Gilles Dewaele for his first podium in his rookie season!
We end our season with a 4th place in the overall standings of the GK4 kart series. We did not get everything we hoped for given the solid progress during the season – but it’s certainly more than we expected before starting the season. Over de coming months we will reflect on our year, set the goals for next and decide on some important aspects.
Thanks to CRG Belgium for all the support, and CRG for the great chassis. Thanks to Precision for the chains matching Lukas his aggressive transitions, the sprockets and the top sprocket protector!
