ABOUT LUKAS

The Young Kid Chasing Big Dreams

Lukas Vanderheeren, born on January 22, 2016, in Roeselare (Belgium), currently lives in Kortrijk. He discovered his passion for motorsports at just seven years old, getting his first taste of karting at Worldkarts, an indoor track in Kortrijk. Less than two years later, Lukas is already competing for top positions in major karting competitions across the Benelux and France.

His rapid rise through a fiercely competitive field hasn’t gone unnoticed. Teaming up with his father and CRG Belgium, Lukas delivered a stunning debut season in 2025. He racked up 10 podium finishes across the year, including a memorable race win at Ostricourt and two podia in the IAME Series Benelux.

By the close of 2025, Lukas had earned 4th place in the GK4 championship, 4th in the Ligue Hauts de France, and 6th in the IAME Series Benelux — all in his rookie year. His natural qualifying pace set him apart throughout the season — with four pole positions at Mariembourg alone, it’s no surprise his fellow competitors have started calling him “Mr. Quali.”

The 2026 season has hit the ground running. A 5th place finish at the prestigious NK IAME and a strong 4th in the opening round of the IAME Series Benelux are early signs that Lukas is only getting started. The sharp end of international competition is exactly where he belongs.

GK4 Kerpen: fast with highs and lows

Kart-Club Kerpen is a special track, a track with a lot of history. Home of Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel, 80% full speed, cutting corners being the normal. Yet we could not find the pace nor manage to get a decent result – and on top concluded with a DNF. During training on Thursday we…

Trigger happy at our home race in IAME Series Benelux

Ostricourt did not get us the result that we wanted to achieve. We had to start chrono from the 22nd place after the lottery – not the biggest issue – yet when Bruce Chirino and myself were going for a fast lap we crashed with a driver who managed to spin for 2nd time already…

GK4 round 2: Never hold back

GK4 round 2 at Genk is in the bag and we’re done for three weekends of back to back racing action. We were quick thats for sure, but it wasn’t good enough to secure a podium. In heat 1 we had the left line during the start, which was slower, and pushed us way back…
